Rob's pre-match musings Hello,

Here is this round's team (in a very rough batting order) -
1 Rob Herne, 2 Angivin Gunasehar, 3 Hugh Walker, 4 Lloyd Walker, 5 Matthew Fisher, 6 David Elliott, 7 Chris Sweet, 8 Dylan Calder, 9 Ian North 10 Doug Alley, 11 Rob Lavery ©

A few points:
1. Thank you to Jimmy and Richo for missing out in round 1. So you know, there will be a rotation system based loosely on last names alphabetically (after the first round). I'll be bringing availability sheets to this weekend's contest so I can get an idea of planned absences (unplanned ones will not be tolerated).
2. We have a bit of a dearth of front line bowlers this year (and a veritable cornucopia of part time ones). If you are in the bottom half of that batting lineup it is a pretty strong indication that you are in my mind for a bowl in the first round. Additionally, if you have ever had dreams of flinging the leather with g@y abandon, this will be the season to prove your skill.
3. In conjunction with the point above, we have a couple of part time keepers in round 1 but no real full timer. If anyone fancies slapping on a pair of gloves and grasping firmly onto whatever the bowler delivers, please let me know because this may be your big opportunity.
4. If we win the toss, we are going to bowl
5. The draw will be available on Friday (lots of notice, I know). Ian has very kindly offered to represent our team at the MWCA meeting on Thursday night and I feel his self-sacrifice should be acknowledged in this communication. Consequently, I wrote the previous sentence.

If anyone has anything they wish to discuss, my door is always all open ears.
