Rob Lavery, MBCC B3 Captain 2005/06

Rob's pre-match musings Gents,
A fine effort in adverse circumstances last game. Like the phoenix, we shall now rise from the ashes and fly around a bit, finally settling somewhere in the South of the US.

Once again we are in recruitment mode for this game. Currently our side is as follows:
1. Dylan Calder
2. Rob Herne
3. Chris Kettlewell
4. Rob Lavery
5. Richard Smith
6. Ian North
7. James Johnston (possibly)
8. Al Lemarchand

If anyone has friends (or even enemies really) who like to play cricket, let me know and we can laugh at them when they are not looking. Then when they are looking we can see if they would like to play for the Breakers in the abovementioned match.

Salutations
Rob P.S. Don't forget to read of your own feats and escapades on the cricket field each week on the match results sections of the website.

Rob's pre-match musings - part II Greetings,

We have managed to pull together an 11 for this round's crucial matchup against the team from Cromer. At this juncture I would like to thank Chris Kettlewell from the C1s and Oli Thomas from "over there….. yes, that'll do…." for helping us in fielding a team this round. The lineup (and rough batting order) is as follows:
1. Rob Herne
2. Dylan Calder
3. Chris Kettlewell
4. Oli Thomas
5. Rob Lavery
6. Dave Elliott (week 1 only, currently being confirmed)
7. Chris Sweet
8. Richard "Moron" Smith
9. Ian North
10. The Magnificent (and One Legged) Peliman
11. Al Lemarchand

Be at the ground by 12:40. If anyone doesn't know, Nolans is the large group of ovals next to Warringah Golf Course on Pittwater Rd and number 4, I believe (and I am frequently wrong) is the one on the Pittwater Rd side next to the toilet block. In addition, cricket is defined in the following ways:
1.Any of various insects of the family Gryllidae, having long antennae and legs adapted for leaping. The males of many species produce a shrill chirping sound by rubbing the front wings together.
2.A small wooden footstool.
3.An outdoor game played with bats, a ball, and wickets by two teams of 11 players each.
Giddy up,
Rob
