C1 Captains Report 2004/05

by Chris Sweet

Chris Sweet, MBCC C1 Captain 2004/05 I’m not sure where to start for my Captain’s report.

Unfortunately, we finished last and on some occasions our numbers were a bit thin but we still managed to get a team onto the park each week. To those players that played most of the season I hope you had an enjoyable time on the field.

There were some good efforts even though we only won the single game this season. We had some interesting people come and play for us during the season. Don’t ask me how many people played at C1’s but it seemed to be a lot!

Some of the interesting highlights over the 2004-05 season were as follows :
Chris Kettlewell who was cavalier and sometimes unusual in his batting style.
Mark “Skiddy” Mullineaux was magnificent behind the stumps where anything was possible.
Phil Sweet capturing a 5-wicket haul against Dee Why in Round 7
Dave Richardson’s unusual catching style.
Some old bloke with a couple of hat-tricks at a million-to-one with some questionable LBW decisions. (They looked good from where I was standing).

I’d like to thank Dave Lang for his support, Matt Fisher for his reglar transport and everybody else who played in the C1 team.

I hope everyone comes back and goes around next season with maybe a bit more luck!

Thank you very much.

Chris Sweet
C1 Captain
