Breakers started well on day 1, capturing wickets at 5, 41, 41 and 42. Then a  handy 49 run partnership gave Harbord a sniff of life followed up by a 88 run partnership. Both these partnerships had chances at ending, but dropped catches allowed them to continue and Harbord built a very confident innings of 269 runs. Mark Mullineaux kept very well saving a great amount of leg side ball from being runs to the sundries column and bagged a catch in his efforts. Nathan Peterson and Mark Hill bowled well in the opening spells to bag 4 wickets between then for just 42 runs. Paul McLennan has shown promise again with good bowling and a comfortable rhythm and will continue to build pace and collect wickets as the season grows. David Lang was brought into the attack and collected the wicket of a batsman who was proving a thorn in the breakers side. Justin Barbaroux bowled very well snaring 2 vital wickets.

Day 2 with a total of 269 in front of them, Manly Breakers were not over awed and new the wicket would offer up the runs, they just needed to be positive and patient.

Rob Herne and Phil Sweet did a great job of wearing the bowling down, with Harbord offering only about 50% of over deliveries on the playable side of the wicket. Patience proved to be present with Rob and Phil nudging up 43 runs off 21 overs, before Herne being dismissed LBW for 14. Justin Barbaroux (45) and Phil Sweet (40) then took the tempo up a notching up 62 runs in ten overs to elevate the Breakers to 105 runs off 31 overs (2/105). The partnership saw both players find their rhythm and plenty of boundaries,

Paul McLennan was run out for a diamond duck while batting with Ian North, Pauls enthusiasm for fast runs came unstuck when Ian pushed a ball to mid-wicket and the return to the bowlers end found Paul just short (4/129).

Mark Mullineaux (4) and Mark Hill came together in the 40th over with the Breakers looking a little worst for wear at 6/133. The two Mark's looked to steady the innings and avoid giving a mouthy Harbord any further satisfaction for the day. Mark Mullineaux hit his straps, smashing the Bombers bowling for seven boundaries for 43 runs. Mullineaux (43) and Hill (13) became the thorn in the Bombers side remaining at the crease for 19 overs and putting together a 69 run partnership, before Mullineaux was caught off a missed timed shot.

Hill (19) remained at the crease with Tony Brown, until falling in the 65th over.

Tony Brown (11*) and David Lang (0*) halted play at the completion of the 66th over with bad light.

The Manly Breakers batted with resilience and determination, against overs, time and light to hold the Harbord Bombers out to a draw.
