[2001/02] Captain; nice guy; legendary batsmen, bowler, keeper and fielder. What else do we need to say! Season highlight taking a few wickets here and there. (Fish, 2002)

[2004/05] The big ship who invariably leads the Breakers flotilla through the rough waters and on to the rum-soaked victory atop the seven seas of the Manly Warringah cricket competition. While many a squall has conspired to sink captain Fisher, he stand steadfast and upright and protects his seamen from harm. Ever reliable and undeniably seaworthy, "Fish" belies his name by keeping his head above water and by having shoulders on which he carries the hopes and dreams of an entire club. God speed Matthew! (Rob Lavery, 2004)

Season 2007/08 saw Fish return to the top of the batting order, and from his very first innings Fish proved that this is his favourite position scoring 54 against Collaroy. This form continued throughout the season and was outstanding – which I put down to the quality bowling he faces from his Captain at training each week. He also consistently showed his all round talent by bowling some excellent spells. Many have commented throughout the season on his likeness to James Hopes and how he can bowl at Adam Dale pace. (Doug-a-las, 2007/08)

Once again Hodgey benefited from the top quality bowling he received from his captain at training sessions on a Tuesday afternoon. He consistently scored 20-30 opening the batting and more often than not he got the innings off to a great start. He also had a great year with the ball and unfortunately for him his fellow team mates struggled to take any catches off his bowling. It was probably the Adam Dale pace of his bowling that made the ball hard to take, but none the less, he should have had another 12-13 wickets to his name. (Doug-a-las, 2008/09)
