The cornerstone of the Manly Breakers enterprises, David Lang (or Lanjey as propreiters of Asian karaoke bars like to call) has been essential in making Manly Breakers the institution it is today. Whether he be ferociously wielding the willow at the top of the order or bowling his right arm sliders, David Lang is Manly Breakers personified. It is testimony to the respect that "Victa" has earned at the club that, upon setting off on a long chase in the field, Matthew "Digger" Phillips yells instructions to him like he is a dog. And whilst that initially seems an unfair comparison, David has many of the qualities that endear out canine companions to us. Loyal, hard working, constantly friendly and a possessing a bizarre fondness for eating smoked salmon straight out of the packet, "Dashing Dave" has left his legacy on the world of cricket... the Manly Breakers. (Rob Lavery, Dec 2004)

The smiling assassin is back, taking 29 wickets at an average of 6.97! Dave also delivered on the batting this season providing the opposition a “Thorn” to their bowling attack! (Hilly, 2006/07)

Langy was unstoppable with the bat at the beginning of the season featuring in 2 big opening partnerships. He bowled well when required and threw a leg at everything in the field. He was always there to umpire and score, well done Langy. (Bally, 2008/09)
