About MBCC

The Manly Breakers Cricket Club has enjoyed success both on and off the field in our short but promising club history. The Breakers established in 2000 with just 14 members has now grown to 40 members, of who make up our two summer competition teams as well as a number of social members and supporters.

The 2002 season saw a significant step for the club in its growth and future development, with the establishment of a second team and securing a Gold Corporate Sponsor in the Brookvale Hotel.

The Manly Breakers Cricket Club achieved a number of competition victories throughout the season with both teams proving very competitive though missing out on semi-final berths.

The Manly Breakers also compete in the Sydney Morning Cricket Association Winter Competition, taking out the 3rd Grade 2002 and 4th Grade 2003 Minor Premiership. The SMCA Winter

In 2002 the Manly Breakers invited the Oak Flats District Cricket Club to compete in an annual coastal challenge. The club accepted our invitation and the Inaugural "Coastal Challenge Cup" was played out between the two clubs, with victory going the way of the Manly Breakers Cricket Club. In future matches the Manly Breakers Cricket Club will be represented by our top 11 ranked players from the previous season's "Cricketer of the Year" points polling system as the clubs 1st XI Representative Squad.

The coming season is promising further success as the club prepares to compete for our first premiership. Preseason training and a coaching clinic with the Manly Breakers club patron Shawn Bradstreet will sharpen the Breakers for victory.

The Manly Breakers growth and success is attributed greatly to the commitment of our club's members in the promotion and development of the game of cricket and the club's commitment to its members. We welcome all new members and supporters to our club and look forward to the continued growth of cricket on the Northern Beaches of Sydney and in Australia.

Look forward to seeing you at the game, in the middle and after the last ball of the day, back at Brookvale Hotel.
